THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD is a hit! Don’t miss Kinetic Theatre’s largest production to date, running now thru August 30th at Carnegie Stage in Carnegie, PA. I’ve had the pleasure of working with my friends, Director and company founder Andrew Paul, and actors Sam Tsoutsouvas, David Whalen, Simon Bradbury, Helena Routi, James Fitzgerald and Sheila McKenna numerous times over the years and happy to add Christopher Kelley, Jandi Linde, Brandi Welle, Mia Laverne and Nai’ron Arnett. I was honored to join this production in the titular role of Roger Ackroyd during this, the 100th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s most groundbreaking novel, widely considered the greatest whodunnit ever written, powerfully brought to life in this thrilling adaptation by playwright Mark Shanahan. It’s an incredible feat to present a large procenium style play in a more intimate black box setting and Kinetic pulls it off with another remarkable first, flipping the entire theater space around to give the audience the longest and best view possible, one that makes them feel like they’re in the midst of the action with and incredible set by Jonmichael Bohach, lighting by Andrew Ostrowski, sound design by Mark Whitehead, costumes by Kimberly Brown, props master Giulia Giampapa and our wonderful Caroline Yacono who amazingly called the show “blind” from behind the set using cameras to keep this incredibly cue-heavy show moving along without a hitch!
