My latest collaboration with author Suanne Laqueur just went live and I couldn’t be happier. THE GREAT DANE is the first book any author has written specifically for me to read and it couldn’t be more timely. One of the things I love so much about this work is the ability it gives me to walk in someone else’s shoes. I’ve often told Suanne reading her work has made me a better human…a better man. And THE GREAT DANE does it once again. I’ve never played an intersex character before, not to mention one with heterochromic chimerism, a rare genetic phenomenon in which a person is born with two or more sets of DNA usually resulting from the fusion of two or more embryos. Since working on this book, I’ve come across other intersex people across the spectrum and been exposed to their amazing stories. It’s really helped me see that both sex and gender are and always have been quite fluid and not as binary as once believed.
